Subversion has a lot of benefits and I am happy to be using it. You can read about it on subversion.tigris.org. The CVS trees for UMN gopher(d), gopherweblink, gonews, hurg, and pygopherd have all been switched to Subversion. Gopher projects managed by people other than myself are encouraged to switch too, but you can stay in CVS if you like. These projects are: Project Maintainer ----------- ---------------------------------------------------- forg David Allen gophervr Paul Lindner pgopher unknown pygs Adam Gurno The conversion process from CVS preserves full change history and log messages, but not tags or branches. Additionally, I am be making "-commits" mailing lists and/or newsgroups available to anyone that wants them, for the purpose of letting people subscribe to get notifications of commits. Finally, I am going to install a bug-tracking system here. Anyone that wants one can have something set up with it, whether or not you have your project's CVS or Subversion tree hosted here. -- John Goerzen GPG: 0x8A1D9A1F www.complete.org
