IMHO, one of the best ways to see what can be done is to look at what is done out there. So here are some examples: Go to quux.org, then Reference, and try the interactive dictionary. Under Archives, there are some mailing list archives that are served up directly from mbox files. Under Archives also, the OBI and US Congress areas are served up directly from ZIP files on the server. You can also use a WAP phone to access quux.org. Others, chime on in on what you're doing.
