The transcripts of all oral arguments heard by the Supreme Court of the United States, beginning with the October Term 2000, will now be available on the Court’s Website, www.supremecourtus.gov, where they will be permanently archived. The Court’s current contract Courtroom reporter, Alderson Reporting Company, will provide transcripts of oral arguments for posting on the Court’s Website 10-15 days after argument. This service does not replace the hard copy files already maintained in the Court’s Library for the public’s use, and in the Public Information Office for the use of the news media. Users can search for transcripts by clicking on the "Oral Arguments" prompt on the home page, and selecting "Argument Transcripts." Transcripts will be listed by case name and the date of oral argument. Transcripts may be obtained sooner than they are posted on the Court’s Website, for a fee, from Alderson, 202-289-2260, www.aldersonreporting.com. The Supreme Court’s Website was launched on April 17, 2000, to make Court information available via the Internet to the Bar, the public, and the news media.
