> > > could i get some guides or some information on how to layout my gopher
> > > system, or files rather. the daemon is up n running and workin just
> > > fine but with regards to files there are alot that are like .menu or
> > > something like that. forgive my ignorance but my memory isnt working
> > > right, but there are alot of things i can do with layouts or
> > > descriptions or something. so any kind of beginner info for laying out
> > > the system would be appreciated :)
>
> I've sort of been waiting quietly in the ranks for something
> similar...John did e-mail me with a couple of example starter files,
> but maybe I was hoping for a groundswell of examples :)

Well, what exactly do you want to see? IMHO, one of the best ways to
see what can be done is to look at what is done out there.

So here are some examples: Go to quux.org, then Reference, and try
the interactive dictionary.

Under Archives, there are some mailing list archives that are served
up directly from mbox files.

Under Archives also, the OBI and US Congress areas are served up
directly from ZIP files on the server.

You can also use a WAP phone to access quux.org.

Others, chime on in on what you're doing.

We probably ought to have a FAQ/Wiki or something about this.
