Well, I don't see how requiring an index entry for EVERY SINGLE FILE
is shunning complexity. Maybe WRT his coding....

Any idea how to get rid of that little "y" with the two dots over it
that appears at the end of all displayed pages? Tried to search for
it in the source files but pasting into an xterm erases the command
string! It's some sort of german character, right?

> The author shuns such things; all those features do is add complexity.
> Creating an alphatbetical listing is painless will a shell script (if
> you can make one to do all the guess work!). If you want moles, you'll
> have to add it to the gopherd itself.

> > I'm exploring other gopher servers and been playing around with the BSD
> > port of the Plan 9 server. Found a sample index.gph file in the P9 version
> > but it only shows three example lines. Haven't been able to figure out
> > how to execute scripts ; maybe it just can't do it. It also appears to
> > require an index entry for every file/dir - ie. can't just populate the
> > tree with files and have them show up alphabetically as with other servers.
> > Odd. Anyone have experience with this thing?
