Seems that I'll have to copy and paste my remarks about keeping the Gopher protocol in Mozilla based browsers from bug 351748 "Remove UI for Gopher proxy settings" ( https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=351748 ) to bug 388195 "Consider removing gopher protocol support for Firefox" ( https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=388195 ), which was filed recently (July 2007) :-( .

https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=388192 "Remove gopher OS integration support" might worth a look too, although this one is _not_ about removing the gopher protocol entirely.
